I was told to change my heater because it's old and had to repair a knock when
l turned it on. They repair it. l don't have a problem now but l'm able to
replace it and get central air also. I had singer since 1979. Should l contact
Carrier that brought the company.

I understand you're looking to upgrade your Singer gas heater, which you've had since 1979. While I commend your dedication to your appliance, I think it's high time to consider replacing it. I can imagine you're considering Carrier, since they acquired Singer, for central air installation. Here's what you should consider:

+ Assess your needs: What's the reason for wanting to upgrade to central air? Is it for comfort, increased energy efficiency, or something else? Answering this question will help you determine which system will be best for you.

+ Consider the cost: Upgrading to central air can be expensive, especially if you're replacing your heating system at the same time. Make sure you get a detailed quote from Carrier, or another reputable company, to see if the cost is within your budget.

+ Think about the future: If you're planning to stay in your home for a while, it might make sense to upgrade to a more energy-efficient system. This will save you money on your energy bills in the long run.

+ Research your options: Don't just go with Carrier because they bought Singer. Do your research to see if there are other companies that offer similar products and services, and compare the pros and cons of each.

If you decide to move forward with the upgrade, here's a list of steps to follow:

+ Request quotes from multiple HVAC contractors to compare prices and services offered.
+ Research different brands and models of central air systems to determine the best option for your home and needs.
+ Make sure the contractor you choose is licensed and insured.
+ Schedule the installation at a time that's convenient for you, and be prepared for the project to take several days to complete
